Questions Answered:
- My 4.5 year old almost always wants me to play with him, he has a hard time playing on his own. I try to prioritize playing with him while also working on daily tasks sometimes on my own and also together. Just when it comes to him playing on his own, he has a really hard time and just wanders around the house not really doing anything. So how do I balance this and teach him independent play??
-How do you make sure that discipline isn’t just changing the actions but is changing the heart of my child? And growing my child’s character instead of creating resentment.
-How do you keep a vibrant spiritual life in the midst of the little years when it seems like there is never a quiet moment.
-What are your best tips for keeping nap time consistent when your toddler is fighting it. When you know they are tired, how do you avoid “giving them what they want when they cry” without being heartless and not attentive to their needs?
-How do I balance consistency with sensitivity to each child's unique needs?
-Navigating toys. How to make your children less “toy” focused. They always want to play and often have a hard time transitioning to productive things like helping clean, learning, etc. I don’t want to take away their childlike desire to play and imagine but how do we mold them to want to be helpful and not just think about play and toys.
-How to navigate internet usage with teens. My daughter uses the computer to look up how to do things or research things but what should I be concerned about? Should they be allowed to be on the computer by themselves as teenagers?
